Contact Us and Directions

Basic Manners class is 6 weeks long. It costs $90 and includes a training collar, training manual, and treats. This class is appropriate for both puppies and adult dogs that have not had prior training. We cover the following topics:

  • Sit
  • Lay down
  • Come when called
  • Walk on a loose leash
  • Stay
  • Beginning agility
  • Socialization
Advanced Manners class is 6 weeks long and costs $90. This class is designed for dogs that have completed the Basic Manners class. This is a more challenging class that is also a lot of fun. The exercises for the AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) are taught in this class, with a CGC test offered the last night of class. The class covers the following:
  • Obedience with distractions
  • Greeting people and other dogs with good manners
  • Calmly accepting handling by other people
  • Remaining quiet during a supervised separation
  • Coming when called with distractions
  • Socialization

Intro to Agility class is 4 weeks long and costs $60. This class will introduce your and your dog to the sport of Agility. This class is designed for you and your dog to "try out" agility in a fun and supportive environment. You will learn how to safely and correctly perform:

  • Tunnel
  • Chute
  • A-Frame
  • Dog Walk
  • Jumps
  • Table

Private Lessons are available on a limited basis. They are generally scheduled during the evening or on Saturday mornings. Contact me to schedule a lesson. The cost is $45 per lesson. Lessons at your home are available for $75 per lesson (in the Reedley area, extra charge for out of area). Lessons can cover a variety of topics including:

  • Aggression towards other dogs
  • Fear/Anxiety
  • Puppy socialization
  • Basic Manners
  • Advanced Manners
  • Rally obedience
  • Canine Good Citizen training
  • Intro Agility

Please mail in the registration form, a copy of the dog's rabies certificate, and your check to reserve your place in class. I will be sending out a confirmation email with more information the week prior to class.

*About the Trainer*

All classes and private lessons at K-9 Action are taught by Tara Flaming Wilson. Tara enjoys helping people learn to communicate better with their dogs thus enabling them to enjoy a more harmonious relationship. Tara realizes that every dog is unique, and strives to understand each dog's personality and needs. She has over 20 years experience in training dogs, and has been training dogs professionally for 8 years. She has competed in many dog sports, as well as participated in K-9 Search and Rescue and Therapy dog work. Her training style is a unique blend that she has developed herself. It centers around being very clear and showing the dog what you want, while providing motivation and consequences depending on what the dog chooses.
